  Provider Perspectives

Providers are essential to
method Use

Identifying strategies to engage providers to support hormonal IUD provision and to ensure quality of care is essential to understanding the potential impact of adding the hormonal IUD to the contraceptive method mix.

Research is being conducted to understand service delivery providers' experiences with the method, to learn barriers and facilitators that affect hormonal IUD provision in both the public and private sectors, and to examine current attitudes, practices, and structural factors that impact method provision.  Additionally, implementation strategies are being identified to ensure the quality of care that hormonal IUD users receive including cost-effective provider training approaches.
